‘A dark day for Washington state’ – Marshall on passage of Democrats’ income tax
In the nearly 25-hour battle House Republicans waged in an attempt to stop the Democrats’ income tax, Rep. Matt Marshall, R-Eatonville, fought with multiple amendments highlighting the constitutionality problems with the bill and issues with Democrats circumventing the referendum process by adding a “neccessity” clause to the bill, among many other arguments.
