Rep. Matt Marshall: I was so moved by this I had to share it
Rep. Matt Marshall, R-Eatonville, was so inspired by the invocation House floor session on Monday, Feb. 2, 2026, he issued the following statemen:
“There are lots of prayers offered during the legislative session, and all are appreciated, said Marshall. But today’s invocation by Pastor Charles stood out. As the House opened its floor session, his words were a powerful reminder that leadership is a trust, authority comes with accountability, and public service demands humility and integrity. He called on lawmakers to seek wisdom, resist pride and self-interest, and remember the responsibility we carry for the people we serve, especially those without a voice. It was one of those moments that cuts through the noise and refocuses why this work matters. I was moved enough by the prayer that I wanted to share it beyond the chamber.”
