Rep. Matt Marshall stands against bill that could lead to future vaccine mandates in Washington

Rep. Matt Marshall, R-Eatonville, fights to stop a Democrat bill that opens the door for more vaccine mandates in Washington. Marshall, a medical professional, along with other House Republicans, offered multiple amendments to try to ensure the creation of a robust exemption policy and the use of trusted peer-reviewed science to better protect Washingtonians from being forced to get vaccinations before full scientific data was available on potential side effects. All were rejected by majority Democrats. Marshall and many other House Republicans cited their personal stories about negative health impacts they experienced due to the COVID-19 vaccine mandate and the erosion of public trust that came from those mandates among their reasons to reject the bill. It passed the House along party lines.
