Dear Friends and Neighbors,
I hope you were able to spend quality time with friends and family over the holidays.
I am honored to take on my new role as your state representative for the 2nd District, and I’m excited to get to work.
I have many priorities for the 2025 session, including education, health care, public safety, and protecting your Constitutional rights.
Our Second Amendment rights are under threat from misguided proposals by the majority party. I will work hard to defeat those bills and propose my own to protect the rights of responsible firearm owners.
I will serve on the House Education Committee, where I will work to improve educational outcomes for our K-12 students without increasing taxes.
I will also serve on the House Health Care and Wellness Committee, where, among other initiatives, I will focus on expanding access to both medical and mental health care by improving efficiency, rather than increasing spending.
I am proud to sit on the House Appropriations Committee, which oversees the operating budget. We are facing a self-made budget crisis, driven by the actions of Democrat budget writers who have mainly operated unchecked in recent years. I look forward to advocating for fiscal responsibility in my role on this crucial committee, firmly opposing any new taxes, and working to rein in Washington’s spending problem.
I need to hear from you about your ideas and concerns as I represent you in Olympia. I encourage you to contact my office regularly to share your thoughts.
Throughout the session, I will also send out several updates directly to your inbox.
Stay tuned for more legislative news and details about my town hall coming in March.
Sincerely,

Matt Marshall
